It is important to the continued creation and innovation of great new music that we respect the copyright of the people that write and produce the tracks we know and love.
Copyright will exist in the music score, the lyrics, the video (if any) and the sound recording. The performers on each track and in each video also have rights.
Therefore, we can only accept uploads of music that you or your band have written and have the rights to distribute.
For example you can not upload a track from the new Amy Winehouse album as you will not have permission to do so. Also it is not permitted to upload cover versions of these tracks unless you have permission of the copyright owner.
To ensure that we respect copyright when uploading tracks or video to our Site you must ensure that you (or your band) have:
- written the music and lyrics;
- performed the track on the recording;
- directed and produced any video content;
- not infringed another person’s copyright;
- not recorded a cover version.
If we find that you have uploaded an infringing track or other material or have not complied with these upload guidelines we will promptly remove your upload.
If you are found to have uploaded infringing material on more than two occasions we will remove your profile from our Site and you will not be permitted to re-register.
